Your Company Can Make a Difference!

Our Annual Charity Walkathon is a wonderful event that not only brings together the Foreign and Japanese communities of Chubu, but also enables us to give back to the region that we live, reside or work in. Through the Walkathon we are able to give to various charitable organizations that support orphans, the homeless and others in need throughtout the Chubu region, and this is made possible only by the financial and in-kind support and sponsorship provided by businesses who have interests in the Chubu area. Thank you for your continued generous support.

The proceeds of the Walkathon are safely held in the " ACCJ Community Services Fund", and each year we have been able to give increasingly sizeable amounts to organizations. The event in 2007 enabled us to give a total of 8 million yen back to Chubu, bringing smiles back to the faces of the not so fortunate in our community.

In 2009 we are hoping to take it a step further: we want to give 10 million yen. Our focus will remain on local charities, and it was in 2008, with a very significant portion will be set aside for children's charities under the theme of "Caring for Children in Chubu". We would greatly appreciate your support to help us reach our goal. Do not delay: make a commitment to the 2009 Walkathon!

Finally, as we enter the 18th year of the Walkathon, we recognize the need for some changes in the event itself. In conjunction with our target of 10 million yen, we are looking to revive the "Walk" component and to further improve the event grounds by adding new attractions and an increased number of child-friendly areas.
